1) Freelance GIS Writer – Agriculture & Environment
Company: Temkars Tech Solutions
Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere)
Job Type: Freelance / Project-Based
Duration: Ongoing (Long-Term Collaboration Preferred)
Industry: Agriculture, GIS & Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Research & Development.
Role Overview: We’re seeking a freelance technical content writer with a strong academic or professional background in Geospatial Science and its interdisciplinary applications. You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality written materials including: Technical reports, Research summaries, Blog articles, Policy briefs, Training manuals, Proposal and grant writing, and Web and brochure copy for GIS/Agri-tech solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Research and write original content related to GIS, remote sensing, and spatial applications in agriculture and environment.
+ Translate scientific and technical concepts into clear, accessible language.
+ Create structured documents such as whitepapers, SOPs, and training modules.
+ Coordinate with our design team for visual integration (e.g., infographics, maps).
+ Meet project deadlines and ensure content accuracy and originality.
+ Edit or review technical documents written by clients or researchers.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geoinformatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, Agricultural Engineering, or related disciplines.
+ Prior experience in technical/scientific writing, preferably in academic, NGO, or consulting settings.
+ Strong command of English grammar, structure, and clarity.
+ Familiarity with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine), satellite data, and indices (NDVI, SAVI, etc.) is a huge plus.
+ Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively.
+ Detail-oriented with a strong sense of scientific credibility and source referencing.
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
+ Experience in writing for international clients, especially in the agriculture or climate sectors.
+ Understanding of policy frameworks like SDGs, FAO, IPCC, ICAR, NABARD, etc.
+ Familiarity with open-source platforms and scientific publication formats.
+ Experience working with startups, research projects, or government programs.

2) Freelance GIS Map Designer
Company: Temkars Tech Solutions

Job Type: Freelance / Project-Based

Industry: Agriculture, Environment, GIS, Remote Sensing, Scientific Communication.
Role Overview: We’re seeking a designer with a hybrid skill set: someone who is equally comfortable working with GIS tools and design images, ppts to transform complex spatial and scientific data into visually compelling maps, infographics, flyers, and digital content. This role is ideal for professionals who love combining design thinking with geospatial intelligence to create real-world impact in sustainability, agri-tech, and development sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design static & interactive GIS-based maps for agriculture, water, forestry, climate, biosecurity, and related themes.
+ Create infographics, posters, slide decks, brochures, and visual reports for scientific communication.
+ Translate remote sensing outputs (NDVI, LULC, slope, rainfall, etc.) into high-quality visualizations.
+ Contribute to story map narratives and spatial storytelling products for web or print.
+ Collaborate with writers, researchers, and project leads to visualize spatial data effectively.
+ Ensure accuracy, visual consistency, and branding across deliverables.
+ Convert geospatial data (raster/vector) into design-ready formats.
Qualifications & Skills:
+ Degree/Diploma in Geoinformatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, Cartography, or a related design/GIS field.
+ Proficiency in GIS tools like QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine.
+ Proficiency in graphic tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, Figma, or similar.
+ Understanding of raster data, vector layers, and map projections.
+ Experience in designing thematic maps: LULC, NDVI, rainfall, elevation, crop health, etc.
+ Knowledge of scientific and spatial design principles: color theory, legends, data classification, and layout standards.
+ Ability to follow technical briefs, branding guides, and editorial standards.
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
+ Experience in environmental communication or agriculture-related sectors.
+ Familiarity with satellite datasets like Sentinel, Landsat, MODIS.
+ Working knowledge of open-source data platforms (e.g., OpenStreetMap, Bhuvan, NASA Earthdata).
+ Experience in interactive mapping platforms (Mapbox, Leaflet, ArcGIS StoryMaps, Tableau, Power BI).
+ Basic understanding of UX/UI design or dashboard layout planning.
+ Ability to work on multilingual or localized visual content.
